Originally opened in 1955, Seahorse is a private community pool that remains an important part of the collective memories of many longtime Lubbock residents. Today’s local grandparents took their swim lessons at Seahorse years ago, and over the decades, countless Lubbock children have done the same. Reasonably priced memberships, a clean and friendly environment, well-trained staff, and a well-stocked snack bar meant endless, fun summer days spent in and around the Seahorse pool.
